What is Divine Mercy Sunday?
Pope John Paul II officially established Divine Mercy Sunday in the year 2000 during the canonization of Saint Faustina. He declared it a day for the Church to remember the merciful love of God and to live it out. The celebration includes special prayers like the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, which is often recited in the afternoon by the faithful, aligning with the time of Jesus’ death according to Saint Faustina’s visions.
